SuperTots New Orleans • Toddler & preschool sports

Kids just wanna have fun!

And that’s exactly where we start. SuperTots turns movement and sports skills into games little ones want to play, with plenty of encouragement along the way.

While they’re busy having fun, they’re practicing coordination, building confidence and learning how to play with others. But don’t tell the kids. To them, it’s just play.

The benefits behind the fun

Little games. Growing skills.

For young children, play is a natural way to explore and practice. Our activities give them opportunities to work on much more than throwing a ball or kicking a goal.

Coordination

Running, balancing, throwing, catching and kicking help kids practice moving their bodies in different ways.

Confidence

Small successes and encouragement help children feel proud of trying, even when a skill is brand new.

Social skills

Games offer chances to take turns, listen, share space and celebrate alongside other children.

Active habits

Positive early experiences give children a chance to discover that moving and playing can be something they enjoy.

Fun first. Then the challenge.

A game gives them a reason to try.

Ask a young child to repeat a drill, and their attention may wander. Turn that same movement into an adventure, and there’s something to get excited about.

Our curriculum introduces a playful goal, then adds a skill or challenge. Kids have something fun to focus on while they practice, repeat and try again.

That’s the idea behind the original SuperTots “super-concentration mode”: getting absorbed in a game, with their attention on the challenge rather than on practicing a skill.

Made for little hands and big imaginations

The equipment is part of the fun.

Colorful cones, hoops, balls and props help turn a space into a game. They add variety, give children a target to aim for and make activities inviting from the start.

Size matters, too. Equipment selected for young children gives them a more manageable way to explore the sport, rather than asking them to work with gear made for bigger kids.

Soft, child-sized equipment and simple activities help create a welcoming introduction to sports.

Think of a ball, a tee and a target. To a child, it’s a fun challenge. Along the way, they’re practicing tracking the ball, coordinating a swing and taking another turn.

A curriculum that grows with them

One small step leads to the next.

SuperTots uses a progressive curriculum, with activities and challenges that build on earlier skills. Younger children explore the basics with support, while older groups practice following directions and using their skills more independently.

Repeating a familiar game gives kids another chance to succeed. Adding a new challenge gives them something to work toward. Coaches use encouragement to help children keep trying at their own pace.

The goal is to help children build a foundation for sports and a lasting enjoyment of being active, whether they go on to join a team or simply love to play.
